Addiction Care
what we do differently:

We treat people the way we would want to be treated ourselves. It’s well known in mental health care that a key factor in success is whether you feel a ‘connection’ with your therapist—the so-called non-specific factors. We focus on this by constantly asking: “If we were the client, would we feel comfortable here?” We also avoid bare office buildings by the motorway, instead working in ordinary houses where all treatment rooms are welcoming and homely.

Our treatments often last longer than in other addiction services. Addiction doesn’t appear out of nowhere: “an addiction is the wrong solution to a problem.” We explore that underlying problem with you, meaning our approach spans the full spectrum of mental health care—trauma, depression, ADHD, autism, personality issues.

In this way, we aim to reduce the high relapse rates often seen in addiction care. We are also mindful of the high costs of care and try to do our part responsibly.

We help you get moving in a way that suits you.

“Personal attention, experience, grounded in today’s world, understanding, hands-on, advice you can actually use—after all these years of trying everything, I finally feel in the right place. Not freshly graduated psychology students, but skilled therapists who know what they’re doing. Finally clean. Forever grateful. If you’re still unsure, go for it!”

We developed a treatment approach for addiction care in Amsterdam and Utrecht that fits today’s busy men and women, struggling with poor habits and addictions. Regain Control of Your Life

We believe it’s important that after treatment with us, you approach life in a fundamentally different way than before. We have succeeded together when you can face life’s challenges with resilience and a positive mindset. You become an autonomous person, no longer swept along by the pace of daily life, but someone who reflects on what truly matters and is willing and able to act on it. As a result, you’ll find life more enjoyable and meaningful—releasing far better feelings of well-being than alcohol, drugs, or other habits ever could.

We achieve this by keeping you under our guidance longer than the average addiction service. If you put in the effort, we do too, working with you to address the underlying issues that led to your addiction or harmful habits.

For many people struggling with addiction, there’s often more going on: trauma, AD(H)D, depression, anxiety, autism, or personality issues. If these aren’t addressed in treatment, the risk of relapse is very high. We meet 1–2 times a week for an hour, and between sessions, you reflect and practice at home and at work what we’ve discussed. This is done with evidence-based, tailored methods. Individual sessions are complemented by inspiring training programs.

We’ve been working this way for over ten years, and we know there are few things in life that have such a profound positive impact on your life—and that of your loved ones and society—as tackling your harmful habits.

Give Yourself This Chance!

Can I Do It Alone, or Do I Need Addiction Care?

We tend to deny our dependence. This isn’t ill will—we simply don’t see it clearly. Dependence comes with shame, lying, and twisting the truth, both to others and to ourselves.

Those around us usually find it a difficult topic to raise. Often, partners are the only ones who speak up. Because they’re alone in this, their concerns are easily dismissed as nagging. Addiction care in Amsterdam can help with this.
